Through the period extending from December 2018 to February 2019, a total of one hundred and sixty
samples of stool were collected from children diarrheal infections from two hospitals in Anbar at the same
period .Sixty three isolates of E. coli were obtained from these samples. These isolates were identified as E.
coli according to the cultural and morphological characteristics on MacConkey agar, Eosin methylene blue
agar, biochemical test vitek 2 system, and API 20 E system. The results showed that only two isolates of E. coli
(E8, E23) produced enterotoxogenic heat stable (STb). While donot produced any isolates enetrotoxogenic
heat laible, were purified by two steps, the first step was by precipitation and the second step was ion
exchange chromatography .The detection of ST and LT by Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR).
