The renal protective effect of quercetin on some blood parameters and nephrotoxicity in male rats

Abstract:

This research has been conducted in cisplatin-treated male rats to examine The probable protective effect of quercetin over parameters of the blood and on nephrotoxicity. Cisplatin is an important chemical agent used only to treat multiple cancers including test tumors (including extragonadal tumors of the germ cells), ovarian cancer, small cell and non-small cell lung cancer, squamous cell carcinomas of both the head or neck, and some newer and less toxic quercetin products. Eightteen blood samples from male rats were collected for each test, divided across three groups (n=6), the first group (control), the second group (Cisplatin) and the third group (Cisplatin+Quercetine). In a the second group, creatinine, urea, and TNF-prom concentrations decrease significantly (P < 0.05) Similar to or sixth of a control group. The study also found significant increases of creatinine, urea, or TNF-private concentrations when compared to the second control group. The results showed a significant rise in the number of red blood cells (RBC), packed cell volume (HCT), hemoglobin (Hb), and platelet in the second group as opposed to control as well as the third group, and a significant decrease in the locomotive operation category in the third. Examine a potential blood parameter or beneficial effect of quercetine on the kidney of rats treated for cisplatin.
