A number of modified pyrimidines can also be found in both DNA and RNA. Pyrimidine derivatives also play an important role in drug development, either in concert with other compounds or on their own. They have been used in a wide variety of pharmaceuticals including general anesthetics, anti-epilepsy medication, anti-malaria medication, drugs for treating high blood pressure, and HIV medication. The nucleotides can be altered through oxidation, methylation, amination., This study was involved synthesis of new 2-Arylakylthio-5-halo-4-methyl pyrimidine-6(1H)-one derivatives. The structure of the target compounds were confirmed via (FT-IR, 1HNMR and GCMS Spectrometry). The biological activity of the synthesized compound (3) as Anticancer agent with the results indicated a highly inhibitory activity at a highly concentration (100 µg/ml) on MCF-7 cell is 72.3, IC50= 25.67 while the highly inhibitory activity of synthesized compound at highly concentration (100 µg/ml) on normal cell (Rat Embryo Fibroblast) is 11.3 with good performance.
