Author: OMAR ALRUBAAE, GHAITH ALI JASIM, ABDULMUTALIB A. NASSER
Abstract: Artemisia abrotanum L. is a fragrant small shrub species. The cytotoxity assay of this species use tested against colorectal cancer HCT116 and Caco-2 cell lines. The later showed cell death by ethyl acetate extract at 60µg/ml at incubation of 24,48 and 72 hr. by 90,91 and 92 % respectively p ? 0.005 and with 30 µg/ml (82, 83 and 85 %) p < 0.0001. Quercttin showed cell death at 30 µg/ml (69, 78 and 94 %) at 24, 48 and 72h respectively p ? 0.0005 and with 15 µg/ml (60, 61 and 90% p < 0.001 and to lesser extent methanol extract 60µg/ml (58 and 70 %) at 48 and 72h respectively p ? 0.001. The previous shown cell death by the activity of ethyl acetate extract at concentration of 60 µg/ml 76 and 77 % at incubation time 48 and 72h respectively p ? 0.05 and at concentration of 30 µg/ml showed cell death by 64 and 75% at incubation time of 48 and 72h p < 0.001, Rutin at concentration of 30 µg/ml showed cell death by 79, 85 and 89 % at incubation time of 24, 48 and 72h respectively p ? 0.001 and with concentration of 15 µg/ml sowed cell death by 65, 75 and 75 % p < 0.005 and to lesser extent methanol at concentration of 60 µg/ml cell death by 59 and 77 % at incubation time of 48 and 72h respectively p ? 0.0005.
