Author: VRUNAL V.MORE, PRAJAKTA K.KHULE, MANOJ M.NITALIKAR, RITU M.GILHOTRA
Abstract: The aim of the study was to investigate the feasibility of niosomes as a drug delivery system of tacrolimus for treatment of psoriasis. Present study was carried out by preparing total nine formulations (NF1-NF9) of niosomes of tacrolimus using appropriate ratio of surfactant and co-surfactant by thin film hydration method and prepared niosomes formulation were evaluated for Vesicle diameter, Drug content, Drug entrapment efficiency, & in-vitro drug release. Best batch thus selected was further formulated as niosomal gel F1-F10 using different gelling agents that is HPMC, Sodium alginate, Carbapol, Xanthan gum, Guar gum Prepared gel was evaluated for various physicochemical parameters like Clarity, Homogeneity, Spreadability, Extrudability, pH, Drug content, Viscosity & in-vitro drug release. From these results it may be concluded that formulation F6 small vesicles size, high percentage of entrapment with the desired sustained release of tacrolimus
