Simultaneous LC Estimation of Amoxycillin and Tinidazole in Tablet Dosage Form.

Abstract: In the present study a simple, accurate and precise reverse phase liquid chromatographic method has been developed and validated for simultaneous estimation of Amoxycillin and Tinidazole from tablet dosage form. The method was developed using Waters HPLC system on a L1 column (Hypersil Gold: 250mm x 4.6 mm, 5µm) using a mixture of Sodium Phosphate Buffer pH 4.5 and Methanol in the ratio 80:20 v/v as mobile phase in an isocratic elution mode at a flow rate of 1.50 ml/min, at 30?C with a load of 20µl. The detection was carried out at 240 nm. The retention time of Amoxycillin and Tinidazole were found to be around 2.6 min and 5.6 min respectively. The method was validated with respect to linearity, robustness, precision and accuracy. The proposed method was successfully applied for the quantitative determination of Amoxycillin and Tinidazole simultaneously from the tablet dosage form.
