Antibacterial evaluation of some new benzimidazole derivatives

Abstract: In this study, we synthesized a sequence of benzimidazole compounds containing. 1,3,4-thiadiazole ring and azo moiety from many reaction steps. The obtained benzimidazole series had been categorized by their melting point, FT-IR and H- NMR data and exhibited good pharmacological activities upon in vitro screening for the antibacterial activitiesin contrast to strains of selection of pathogenic Gram-positive bacteria 1 (S. aureus and B. subtilis ) and Gram- negative bacteria (E.coliand p. aeruginosa )in comparison with (Amoxicillin ) and (Ciprofloxacin ) as standard antibacterial agents
