To benefit fromcobalt thiocyanatere agent and cloud pointextraction procedure to improvement of
spectrophotometric technique that used for evaluation of ranitidine HCL in pure substance and pharmaceutical
formulations. The coloredsubstance isproduced by the reaction of the amine group of drug with cobalt
thiocyanatemetal, which is prepared intoTritonX-114
(non-ionic surfactant
)from a watery liquid. Dilution of the
surfactant-rich phase was done by ethanol while the measurement of the absorption was done by spectrophotometer
at
(620
)nm. The study determined the influence of many parameters such as Triton X-114 level, pH, time and
temperature of the cloud point. Using the calibration graph for showing the range
(0.1-10
)µg mL
-1
of ranitidine HCL
with
(regression
2
)r
=0.9996. For information, the relative standard deviation was
(0.6581
), and the preconcentration
factor was
(20
). The suggested technique was used for the estimation of ranitidine HClin pharmaceutical formulations
(tablets). The study validates the tested methods with the spectrophotometer.
