| Abstract:
|
The incontinence society has framed the definition for Urinary incontinence as it is the grievance made by any
person as any instinctiveseepage of urine. It has been considered that from the childhood the habit of developing
the voluntary control of bladder is a prerequisite for the sense of self esteem, independence and for the normality
sense. Therefore whenever a person is susceptible to losing this character or voluntary control he/she is found to
lose his/her self esteem. It is one of the problems which are not commonly talked about neither in public nor in
private. Urinary incontinence has been estimated that within 2025 to 2050 the strength of the elderly population
would be doubled to 1.6 billion throughout the world; where the total population will show a rise of only 34%.
Urinary incontinence is a condition which is not directly affects the life of the people.The urinary incontinence was
one of the prevailing health related issue in the community which is mostly unnoticed. The male to female ratio
was 1:1.06, 152 (46.6%) were affected because of incontinence in the community. Males were more affected than
the females. The co morbid condition like diabetes, hypertension, COPD, bronchial asthma were compared with
the urinary incontinence. Substance abuse practice like alcohol/ smoking was also associated with the commonness
of urinary incontinence and the quality of life.
