Abstract:
|
Various etiological conditions can lead to Osteoporosis, which may vary for generalized and regional
osteoporosis. The most common a etiologies for generalized osteoporosis include postmenopausal age-related
or senile osteoporosis. The other common causes include derangement in an endocrine function like Cushing’s
syndrome, hyperthyroidism is another important cause. Various drugs like corticosteroids, heparin etc are
another important cause of generalized osteoporosis. Vitamin or mineral deficiency like malnutrition, scurvy
etc. also can lead to generalized osteoporosis. Certain metabolic bone diseases like Osteogenesis imperfect
are also an important cause. Other minor conditions, which are implicate dare alcoholism, liver cirrhosis etc.
This research work proposes association of femoral with nutritional status of study to know the prevalence of
regional osteoporosis in patients.
