This review shows an overview about the Hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography which provide an
another point of view for separation of small polar compound. The HILIC is a technique which uses an organic/
aqueous modifier mobile phase with high organic solvent concentration and stationary phase with hydrophilic
nature. The characteristic of the stationary phase is discussed which may affect and in some cases mobile phase
composition choice is limited also limit the ion strength, retention strength .The mechanism of HILIC is based
on partition chromatography by modification is needed. The application of HILIC is discuss along with its
limitations.
