Abstract:

Ischemia-reperfusion injury (IRI) is a common injury of multiple organs including kidney, heart, and brain. It is
expected injury that can occur after myocardial infarction, sepsis, organ transplantation,whichcharacterized by
restriction of blood supply to an organ followed by restoration of blood flow and re-oxygenation. Acute
kidney injury (AKI) is a common clinical pathology characterized by rapid deterioration of renal function.AKI is
the most common causes is ischemia/reperfusion (I/R) injury, Which can be classified according to the etiology
into the major categories: prerenal, intrarenal, and postrenal. In hospitalized patients. Prerenal cause of AKI
accounts for 25% and intrarenal cause account for 35–70% of AKI cases. Postrenal cause generally accounts for
<5% of AKI.This study aimed to investigate the possible protective effect of Ginsenoside by determining renal
biomarkers on experimentally induced ischemia-reperfusion injury in mice.
