This study includes the synthesis of new Chalcone-Azo ligands and their mixed ligands bidentate (N,N)
complexes, one of them named 3-(4-bromophenyl)-1-(3- (E )–(4,5-diphenyl-1H-imidazol-2-yl) diazenyl) phenyl)
prop-2-en-1-one (LA) and the other named 3-(4-bromophenyl)-1-(3-(E)–(4,4'-methoxy-4,5-diphenyl-1Himidazol-
2-yl)diazenyl)phenyl)prop-2-en-1-one(LB). Both ligands were coordinated with (Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd,
Hg and Pd)(II) with mole ratio (1:1:1) as a mixed ligands Complexes. The ligands were characterized with many
spectrometric techniques as(UV-Visible, FTIR, 1H &13C NMRs, Mass, and elementary analysis (C.H.N),while
their mixed ligands complexes was characterized with some of the obvious techniques, indeed to the
measurement of the electrical molar conductivity and magnetic susceptibility) to suggest their geometries. The
results of this study has suggested an octahedral geometry for all complexes except the Pd(II) complex was
square planer. The cytotoxicity of Pd(II) complex against human breast cancer( MCF-7 and AMJ-13) and
normal cells (HBL) were examined, which indicated the significant effect of this complex on inhibition growth
of cancerous cells, as result it may exploit in the clinical domain.
