The article is devoted to the role of vitamin D in the pathogenesis of Parkinson’s disease, as well as the actual
issue of vitamin D deficiency as preventive measures. Low concentration of 25 (OH) D prevails in the PD
group, indicating a significant high prevalence of hypovitaminosis in patients with PD compared with the
control group. These data confirm the possible role of vitamin D deficiency in the risk of development in PD.
