Lufenuron is an insect growth regulator (IGR) belongs to the pesticide class, chitin synthesis inhibitor. The present
work essentially focused on effect of Lufenuron on larval stages of stored insect pest Triboliumcastaneum using
developmental and biochemical parameters. LC20 and LC40 were evaluated for first instar larval stage which is
0.00001ppm and 0.0001 ppm respectively. Sub lethal dose of Lufenuron reduces larval weight as compared to the
control in all the three stages i.e. 7, 10 and 15 day old. The sub lethal dose of Lufenuron reduces the total larval
protein and chitin in dose dependent manner. It is also observe that Chitin: Protein ratio was changed due to
Lufenuron treatment.
