A complex approach to the health improvement of patients with jaw fractures, with introduction of adequate nutrition, therapeutic physical exercise and comprehensive oral hygiene.

Abstract: Timely or full provided assistance to patients with jaw fractures -impacts on early recovery, faster adaptation to traumatic illness and reduced disability. In general, the data presented in this article indicate an improvement of the clinical symptoms of the underlying disease, the functional status of patients with jaw fractures under the influence of a rehabilitation program that includes a combination of general and local exercises of therapeutic physical exercises, prescription adequate diet with the inclusion of nutritional support and a comprehensive approach to oral hygiene. The effectiveness of the rehabilitation program was tested by bioimpedanceometric method, subjective data about feelings and quality of life in the period of immobilization by means of questionnaires. The results of the study show that rehabilitation activities in the comprehensive treatment of patients with jaw injuries plays a positive role, effectively helps to normalize mental and physical conditions, has an important impact on the favorable outcome of the underlying disease, influences the motivational component of physical activity with the formation of adequate approaches to a healthy lifestyle.
