Procaine as a New Coupling Agent for the Spectrophotometric Determination of Fibrates by Diazotization Coupling Reaction

| Abstract:
|
A sensitive, selective, rapid , simple and accurate of the spectr?ph?tometricdeterminati?n of fibrates in bulk and in
d?sagef?rms. This meth?d depend ?ndiacotization?f primary amine gr?up?f procaine hydrochloric acid with s?dium
nitrate and hydr?chloric acid f?ll?wed by c?upling with fibrates in aque?us mildly acidic medium t? f?rmazo dye
astable?range –yell?w . Sh?wed obeyed beers law between 0.2- 14 ppm , with molar absorptivity 3.01*104L.mole-1.cm-
1 at 385nm. Sandells sensitivity 0.006mg.cm-1, limit of detection (L?D) 0.018ppm and limit of quantitication (L?Q)
0.058 ppm . This meth?dhas been successfully applied t?determinati?n of fibrates in bulk and in pharmceutical
preparation , tablet with agood recoveries 99.63-100.25 % .
