Synthesis and Pharmacological Evaluation of novel Derivatives of N-(5-(1H-indol-3-yl)-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)-5-(substitutedphenyl)-3-(phenylamino)-4,5-dihydropyrazole-1-acetamide.

Author: DINESH MEHTA, POONAM TAYA, RINA DAS
Abstract: A novel series of 1,3,4 thiadiazole derivatives were synthesized and screened for their anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial potential. The structures of newly synthesized compounds were confirmed by their analytical and spectroscopic data using IR, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR Spectrum. The novel compounds were evaluated for their anti-inflammatory potential using carrageenan induced paw edema model. Three compounds 3, 4 and 10 alleviated inflammation more than the standard drug Diclofenac Sodium. The synthesized compounds also showed significant antibacterial activity against Gram positive bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus (MTCC 3160), Bacillus subtilis (MTCC 2061), Gram negative Escherichia coli (MTCC 1652), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (MTCC 741) and antifungal activity against fungal strains: Candida albicans (MTCC 183) and Aspergillus. niger (MTCC 2110) in comparison with the reference drugs Ciprofloxacin and Clotrimazole for antibacterial and antifungal activity respectively.
Keyword: Anti-inflammatory activity, Antimicrobial Activity, Thiadiazole, Pyrazoline.
